Fear is a Liar

One of my absolute favorite poems by Shel Silverstein is Listen to the Mustn'ts.

Listen to the MUSTN'TS, child,
Listen to the DON'TS
Listen to the SHOULDN'TS
The IMPOSSIBLES, the WONT'S
Listen to the NEVER HAVES
Then listen close to me-
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be.

For many empowering reasons, we've really embraced the concept of exploring our own truths this year. In a crazy political climate, social unrest and high-pressure workforce/workplace competition, we have found in every instance that FEAR IS A LIAR. Over and over, we see fear creeping in at all levels -- forcing short-sighted decisions and unbalanced compromise. It forges alliances and relationships with "what can't be" versus "what if."

In our work, there is little room for creativity if we only work within the limitations of the mustn't, the don'ts, the shouldn'ts and the won'ts.

In 2016, our mantra is #rethinkfearlessly.
